It is with a great sense of pride I announce that the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka was awarded the rights to conduct the ‘World HRD Congress in Sri Lanka in 2020 which however had to be rescheduled to be held in 2021 due to the Covid19 disruption. Thus CIPM will host this important global event under the aegis of the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA) from 25th, 26th and 27th October 2021 at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo.

The World Congress on People Management is held once in every two years under the aegis of the WFPMA with the previous event being held in Chicago, USA in 2018. It is noteworthy that the World HR Congress is hosted by a South Asian country for the very first time.
In this Covid19 disturbed world we need resilience and inspirational leadership to proceed into the future. New expectations and challenges have emerged in managing people amidst the current global pandemic. Even in critical times, innovation, best HR practices ,people engagement and trust play key roles to gain sustainable business growth in organizations. It is an opportune time to mirror the future and take up the challenges of rebuilding the future in this Covid19 ravaged world.
In the context of the above thoughts, global HR leaders will find the World HR Congress an apt place to discuss the HR challenges of today whereby an integrated approach can be adopted to brainstorm the best approaches to strategizing, reshaping and developing the global “HR New Agenda.” It is needed for the betterment of every nation across the globe. This in turn will show the way for business organizations to “Bounce Forward” meaningfully to strategically rebuild for future sustainability.
This year’s HR Congress will be delivered virtually and physically by world-renowned speakers who will share their experience and knowledge spending much time. This is the right time for the representatives of many regions across the world to come together to build a human capital agenda for the development of the Human Resource fraternity.

I request all leaders and HR practitioners in the world to join the conference .
Best wishes

Jayantha Amarasinghe
President CIPM – Sri Lanka
